I figured I would start you off with a brief history of the city of Hampton, via photo. These historical roadside markers are located all throughout the state of Virginia and are developed by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, dating back to the 1920s. Each of the markers are approved and carry information relating to Virginia's history, individuals, buildings, and events of statewide or national interest. There are currently over 2,200 markers throughout the state of Virginia.
